Why Weight?

Most existing regimes for weight management and weight loss are based on a limited understanding of what the bodymind is attempting to do when it stores fat in the tissues of the body. Losing weight is NOT about counting calories or forcing oneself to do exercise. If that were so, the sample of the population that is 'thin' would be spending their whole time doing exercise and monitoring their energy intake!

However, all people have non-nutritional hungers that need to be fed, and when these are not being fed by their experience of life, food can act as the alternative 'fix' to meet that need. The solution is to change life experience so the need is met in ways which do not necessarily involve calories.

'Why Weight' is based on changing how a person choreographs energy, by working with change processes in mind. It is a gentle and effective means of changing the physiological and behavioural processes of energy balance that run in conjunction with the cognitive, emotional and spiritual states of the person.

'Why Weight' processes show the person how to run a strategy for being naturally slender, built around gaining knowledge and behaviours that feed the real 'hungers' with the right type of 'nutrition', which may not involve food. Part of the process of transformation involves turning fear into love, thus finding a harmony with one's physical body, instead of feeling that it is a constant struggle or battle to control it. The emotional, sexual and spiritual domains of the person are integrated with an effective and realistic goal-achievement process that honours physical and physiological capability, as well as honouring who and what the person really is.
